Braided Rope

Like many of the symbols throughout this guitar, the braided rope carries a dual meaning.

In its first reflection, it represents the things I used in an attempt to end my life. While that moment was undeniably dark, I choose to see it as a reminder of growth, hope, and the opportunity to make today better than yesterday. It is part of my past and part of my story, but it does not define who I am.

The second reflection is found in the better purposes rope serves. Rope anchors, lifts, secures, and allows sails to harness the wind. Likewise, it represents the people and processes that have anchored me, lifted me up, and helped me catch the breezes that continue carrying me forward each day.
