A representation of the present self and the pursuits of life. The hammerhead was chosen because, in Polynesian culture, it symbolizes tenacity, strength, and determination. To be here today, writing this book, I have had to discover each of those qualities — sometimes one minute at a time.

The body of the shark is formed from a wave motif, reflecting the complexity and constant movement of life's pursuits. Progress is rarely linear. Like the ocean itself, life rises and falls, challenges us, and continually asks us to adapt.

The right pectoral fin is a stylized seashell, representing prosperity. While I am not driven by wealth itself, I recognize that meaningful work deserves to be pursued with excellence, and that prosperity can become the freedom to continue creating, serving, and contributing.

The left pectoral fin is a palm, representing paradise. For me, paradise is not a destination, but the peace that comes from accepting who I am today while continuing to grow into who I may yet become.

The head of the shark is composed of shark teeth, a symbol of strength. Over time, I have come to realize that true strength is found not in certainty, but in the willingness to question, to learn, and to adapt my understanding as life reveals new perspectives.
